While we’ve got your attention: Its wildfire season, time to review Ready Set Go.
Make sure you have addressed defensible space, that there is nothing flammable near the house - such as a wood pile or flammable furniture. Codes are changing relative to plantings within 5 feet of structures. and we will host a meeting to discuss. Finally, don't do defensible space clearing in the heat of the day or with metal blades that can spark on rocks - every year people cause fires this way.
Ensure your ‘Go Bag’ incudes:
- Medications
- Charger for phone
- Important papers - Save photos and files to the cloud or have an external drive with the data stored at another location.
Anything you simply can't replace, store elsewhere during height of fire season. Resist the urge to take everything with you when fleeing - things can be replaced, lives cannot.
