Local Fair

Locally The Napa Firewise, Napa Valley Vintners and Napa Valley Grapegrowers and CAL FIRE/ Napa County Fire are hosting a Fire Resources Fair on April 11 11am-4pm at the Napa Valley Expo to allow members of industry and community to come together in response to risk of wildfires. 30+ exhibitors and vendors will be there, looking to support the community in fire recovery and prevention.

National Advocacy

Nationally, please consider joining our neighbor Stuart Funk in writing letters to support HR-176 (2023), a bill before the US Congress that would essentially do what AB-1249 did in California in eliminating taxes on Fire Victims Trust awards to fire victims. If you have 5 minutes - his letter can be downloaded here and pasted in our representative's web form here.

Donate to support road clearing

Looking forward, We will be organizing our annual road-edge weed-whacking as we get into the summer. Please consider a donation to support this.

$250k secured

In addition, Napa Firewise has $250K to do roadside clearing of brush going out 20+ feet. The work will start in the summer. Permission forms will be sent out to landowners with parcels contiguous with the road to allow work beyond the road easement. Our goal is to clear the entire length of the road from the bottom at Westgate to the top of Atlas Peak.

Stay tuned

County chipping and clearing programs are expected to be announced soon,  the county is moving the Nixle alert system to a new platform which will enable alerts to be personalized, and let us know if you hear of other news we should broadcast in our next newsletter

Thanks neighbors, and here is to all 40+ inches of rain!
